Today was over 90 degrees! So we took Elias to the play place, an indoor space for kids. He loved running around, and is getting used to playing with balls. Now we just need to teach him how to kick!
Elias climbed the slide all by himself!
My friend Ian Thake from IU - a fellow Wellsie - was in town and staying with us this weekend, so we went out to the park together and all had a great time!
Elias loves playing in tupperware. It occupies him longer than most things, which is to say about 5 minutes.
And come the morning, he climbs up into his stroller and sits there, talking to us - saying in his own way that he wants to go out for a walk!
Elias has started just rolling around on the floor on his back - lying on the ground and playing. Sometimes I suspect he's copying the cat - or trying for the same result - a stomach rub. Or in his case, a stomach tickle!
Elias and I headed out on a hot day -and he got to wear shorts for the first time in Chicago. He went on the slide, and later got his first booboo!
Elias loves his snack time.
Today bubbles was closed for Easter, so we headed to the park. We met another cute little boy with blond corn silk hair, and elias made his first attempts at playing with another child. They really were mainly gauging how soon the other would leave so they could each have the train to themselves.
Today, Elias waved at a person on the tv. Hilarious!
We're having a great time in Waco with Karen! We're staying with her at Cheri and Dennis's and enjoying the family time, warmth, and sunshine. Elias is having a blast running barefoot in the grass, splashing in the birdbath, and getting licked by Bo, the yellow lab.
Mom and Dad were here for a week - so we've had a lot of fun! Enjoying the first nice week since the fall, and going on long walks and trips to the park!
Yesterday we went to Pickles - three in one kids experience. They have a kid hair cuttery, a cafe (with food for kids and parents!), and a play area. Elias loves climbing the stairs, and he loves playing with the space magnets. We also dressed him up in various outfits, but he seemed less excited about that.
Today Elias went on two walks. It was so warm, he just needed a couple layers! He got more comfortable walking in his shoes, and enjoyed directing himself down the sidewalk. He still does not want to hold hands!
At the park, Elias went swinging and wandered around in the snow.
On the way home, Elias climbed up the stairs! His favorite part of the trip.
Today we went to Bubbles for Open Play. As usual, Elias loved climbing the squishy stairs and playing cook in the kitchen. We even tried a ride down a slide!
Later, Elias finally figured out how to play with the kitty and he and Medea had a great time.
We had a great walk! About an hour - and Elias walked around a bit in his shoes. But he crawled up some stairs and got wet with melting snow.
Today we are going on a walk!
After Elias wakes up from his nap (which he seems very reluctant to take), he and I are going to get dressed and head outside. It is currently 47 degrees! How wonderful. We are going to meet Meg and her puppy Frankie for a long walk around Edgewater and Andersoneville. Those two love playing with each other, and they haven't gotten to walk together in a long time because it's been too cold. Today we'll reunite them!
